Ramgati with the beauty of Meghna

Ramgati:
Ramgati is an Upazilla of Laxmipur District. It is in Chittagong division. As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, The population of Ramgati is 335243. Males constitute 51.57% of the population, and females 48.43%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 146035. Ramgati has an average literacy rate of 19.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.Ramgati has 12 Unions/Wards, 57 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 69 villages.

The people of Ramgati is self centered. They are living there with culture. They do job or business and earn a huge. They don't think to leave the area because they know that they are living in a side of Bangladesh arrounding a dangerous river named Meghna. Which is taking a huge part of Ramgati without kindness. They are satisfied with their culture and cultural calamities. From sunrise to sunset they are living with peace and earning their livelihood.

Most of them are engaged with facebook and other cultural and social networking. Motorbike is main transportation there. Char Alexander is an important place to come to Ramgati from Laxmipur district. First have to come Alexander from Laxmipur and then need to take CNG or honda upto Ramgati Upazilla.

Some area is still waiting to be part of Meghna river. As it has no way to deny. A sub health center is waiting also to be part of the river. Everyday two doctors come here to see the patient and upto half of the day they give prescription and medicine to Ramgati's people. From 70-80 patient come here everyday and take their medicine. There is no any hospital without it.

The Meghna river is flowing everyday and everynight with all day long within the Ramgati upazilla. The current of Meghna river is so sharp that it is cutting and taking the land of Ramgati everyday. The hunger of Meghna river is not satisfied until taking the soil of Ramgati.

The bank of river in Ramgati is combination of fisherman and general people. Within all day fishermen catching the fishes and selling it to mohajon(a middle man) to reach the fish upto all general poeple. We buy fish form bazaar or market and cook it for taste of our tongue. Fishermen who take their life risk and arranging big, small and many kinds of fish for us, we have no any time to think about them. We fill our test and enjoy the life.

The life of a fisherman is uncertain. When they go to middle of the river or sea or ocean they don't know how they tackle, how they control into the storm. They can be missing, can be lost any time in the river, sea or ocean. For livelihood they are selecting the job. Taking a different kinds of taste to us they are earning so few that it is shocking our mind and shaking our heart. How much sympathy we have for them??? We should be thoughtful to them and take a necessary and social engagement for them.

Ramgati is beside of  Upazilla Daulatkhan of District Bhola, Upazilla Tazumuddin District Bhola, Upazilla Hatiya District Noakhali. The Meghna river is barricading Ramgati from Bhola and Noakhali. It is a part of Bangladesh and situated in the bank of Meghna river.
